Police: Suspect in 6 shootings in Maryland, Delaware, caught

(CNN) — A suspect in shootings in Maryland and Delaware on Wednesday that left three people dead and three others injured was caught in Delaware after a manhunt, authorities said.

Radee Labeeb Prince, 37, is accused of killing three people and wounding two others at his job in Maryland on Wednesday morning. Police say he shot a sixth person about two hours later at a Wilmington, Delaware, car dealership.

Prince was caught in Newark, Delaware, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland.

A law enforcement official involved in the investigation told CNN authorities got a tip on Prince’s whereabouts and flooded the area. Three agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives spotted Prince walking around a neighborhood, smoking a cigar, the source said.

MANILA—One of the U.S.’s most-wanted terrorists was among the last remaining leaders killed as Philippine forces near victory in a prolonged and bloody battle against Islamic State-linked militants occupying the southern city of Marawi, authorities said.

Las Vegas shooting suspect Stephen Paddock didn’t have a criminal history, but his father was on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list from 1969 to 1977.

Why was he on the FBI’s Most Wanted list?

Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, father of Stephen Paddock, was indicted in 1960 on three counts of robbing Phoenix branches of Valley National Bank, the Arizona Republic reported on Oct. 6, 1960. He was accused of stealing close to $25,000 and was arrested in Las Vegas after his third bank robbery.

Benjamin Paddock escaped a federal prison in La Tuna, Texas, on Dec. 31, 1968, having served eight years of a 20-year sentence, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

About six months later, Benjamin Paddock was placed on the FBI’s Most Wanted list and the FBI described him as a “diagnosed psychopath and is considered ‘extremely dangerous,’” the Arizona Republic reported June 11, 1969.
