Captured in Colombia: One of the World’s Most Wanted Narcs

One of the world’s most wanted drug lords – Juan Carlos Mesa-Vajello, alias “Tom” – has been captured by police in Colombia at a party to celebrate his 50th birthday.

The United States had offered a $2 million reward for the capture of Mesa-Vajello, who was wanted by Colombian authorities for conspiracy to commit aggravated murder while attempting to wrest control of Medellin’s criminal underworld.

Colombian Defense Minister Luis Carlos Villegas described Mesa-Vajello’s detention as “one of the most powerful blows against drug trafficking this year” on his Twitter account Saturday.

The arrest was carried out by special forces at a luxury estate in the El Penol municipality, Antioquia province, of which Medellin is the capital. Police seized weapons; US$14,000 in cash; 80 million pesos; jewelry, and seven high-end cars.

Ky. lawyer on FBI’s Most Wanted list captured in Honduras

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11) – Eric Conn, one of Kentucky’s most wanted FBI fugitives was arrested this week in Honduras, federal investigators announced Tuesday.
 
On a Honduran news outlet website, the El Heraldo reported Conn had been under surveillance for several days and was taken into custody after being seen leaving a restaurant at a shopping center in La Ceiba. 
 
The report said the nation’s Technical Agency for Criminal Investigation (ATIC) had been following Conn for several weeks. A photo showing what appeared to be two armed and masked ATIC agents standing over a man reported to be Conn.
 
Conn’s reported capture could not be immediately confirmed by WHAS 11 News.

FBI wanted fugitive captured in Danville

DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) – A suspect on the FBI’s most wanted list was arrested in Danville, according to Danville police.

Officers arrested 26-year-old Lajuan M. Fitzpatrick around noon on Sunday at a home in the 1700 block of Kentucky.

Police say, a patrol officer was in the area of Main and Illinois and attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver refused to stop and tried to elude the officer.

The vehicle was eventually abandoned, and the driver fled the area on foot. A K9 was called in and was able to track the suspect to the home on Kentucky street.

Police were able to obtain a search warrant for the home and  arrested Fitzpatrick.

After running the suspects finger prints, police found that he was wanted for murder and drug conspiracy. The FBI said he was wanted for a December 2013 murder and drug-trafficking crime in Gary, Indiana.

A man who was on an FBI most-wanted list has been arrested in connection with a May 22 robbery and shootout inside a Colerain Township bank.

The FBI announced that 21-year-old Malcolm Lorenzo Jones, whose last known address was on Loralinda Lane in Colerain Township, was captured Tuesday. A tweet Wednesday from the FBI said only that Jones was arrested in Ohio.

Texas ’10 Most Wanted’ Fugitive Captured in Woodland Hills

One of Texas’ most wanted fugitives has been captured following a short pursuit in Woodland Hills early Tuesday.

Police received a tip about 10 p.m. Monday from authorities in Dallas that Christopher Gonzalez, a fugitive on the state’s “10 Most Wanted” list, was in the Woodland Hills area, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Luis De la Luz said.

Dallas police had apparently been following Gonzalez’s social media sites and reached out to the LAPD after noticing a livestream on the 18-year-old’s Instagram account, De la Luz said.

Officers located Gonzalez and another man near the intersection of Serrania Avenue and Wells Drive, but the two quickly fled the scene, De la Luz said.
