Last Tuesday immigration agents apprehended 56-year-old Jesus Aguilera in Provo after receiving a tip about his whereabouts.

Aguilera has been on ICE’s most wanted list since 2010 when his appeal of a judge’s deportation order was denied.

The 56-year-old has a lengthy criminal record dating back to at least 1990 and is a convicted sex offender.

He will be processed before being sent back to Mexico.

Montreal Police Arrest Laotian Man on US Most-Wanted List

Canadian police officers chased down and caught a Laotian-born alleged drug smuggler who is on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement list of its 10 most wanted criminals.

Montreal police said this week Katay-Khaophone Sychanta, 35, tried to flee on foot along a bike path, but officers caught him for alleged drug possession. Fingerprint checks revealed his identity.

He was arraigned Thursday on charges of drug possession, obstructing the work of police and false documents.

Sychanta faces earlier drug charges in Ontario as well as those in the United States.

Sychanta was born in Laos and was first indicted in 2005 in Michigan. The ICE most-wanted list says he evaded capture on drug charges in the U.S. and continued to supervise a drug-smuggling organization based near Windsor, Ontario.

ICE said he has a history of violence and has allegedly made threats against Homeland Security Investigations unit agents and other law enforcement officials.

Montreal police arrest Laotian man on US most-wanted list

TORONTO (AP) — Canadian police officers on bicycles chased down and caught a Laotian-born alleged drug smuggler who is on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s list of 10 most wanted suspects, authorities said Tuesday.

Montreal police Commander Miguel Alston said Katay-Khaophone Sychanta, 35, was on a park bench preparing to smoke a marijuana joint with another man when police approached and questioned him last week.

Alston said the officers were not satisfied with his answers after he produced identification that turned out to be a fake driver’s license from Maryland.

Alston said Sychanta tried to flee on foot along a bike path, but officers caught him and arrested him for suspected drug possession. Fingerprint checks revealed his identity.

Sychanta was arraigned Thursday on charges of drug possession, obstructing the work of police and possessing false documents. It was not immediately clear who might be representing the suspect, and police did not immediately respond

Trump Administration Keeps its Promise: Begins Removing Violent Gang Members, Criminals, and Predators from …

This month, President Trump and his Administration took decisive action to fulfill the President’s promise to keep our communities safe.

Just yesterday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrests of nearly 200 individuals in Southern California. These arrests arise out of a five-day operation targeting at-large criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants, and immigration fugitives. Almost 90 percent of those arrested had prior criminal convictions—including convictions for domestic violence, battery, sex crimes, manslaughter, assault, arson, and cruelty to a child.

Last week, ICE announced that in the 100 days since President Trump signed his Executive Orders on immigration enforcement, the agency has arrested roughly 30,000 convicted criminal aliens whose offenses range from homicide and assault, to sexual abuse and drug-related activity.

ICE noted that these arrests include:

ICE immigration arrests climb nearly 40 pct.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In the 100 days since President Donald J. Trump signed executive orders regarding immigration enforcement priorities, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has arrested more than 41,000 individuals who are either known or suspected of being in the country illegally. This is an increase of 37.6 percent over the same period in 2016.

Between Jan. 22 and April 29, 2017, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations deportation officers administratively arrested 41,318 individuals on civil immigration charges. Between Jan. 24 and April 30, 2016, ERO arrested 30,028.

“These statistics reflect President Trump’s commitment to enforce our immigration laws fairly and across the board. ICE agents and officers have been given clear direction to focus on threats to public safety and national security, which has resulted in a substantial increase in the arrest of convicted criminal aliens. However, when we encounter others who are in the country unlawfully, we will execute our sworn duty and
