Man Gets 39-Year Sentence For Pair Of ‘Terrifying’ Hudson Valley Burglaries

A man convicted of a pair of violent armed robberies in Orange County has been sentenced to nearly four decades in prison after being found guilty by a jury.

Geoffrey Berman, the United States Attorney for the Southern District, announced on Friday that Lawrence Brown, 46, has been sentenced to 39 years in state prison after committing two armed robberies using a handgun and binding his victims after the fact.

In November 2013, Brown entered a Rite Aid in New Windsor dressed as a Pepsi deliveryman, asking to speak to the store manager, according to court documents. Once they were alone, Brown shoved a firearm into her side and forced the manager into her office to empty money from the store’s safes.
