CONCORD, NH — Since the creation of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, more than 7,000 arrests have been made by the team – including 40 fugitives taken into custody in 2017, as part of the Fugitive of the Week program. The program – which was started about a decade ago, with the help of talk show host Peter St. James, of the NH Wake Up Show on WTPL 107.7 – features a current fugitive from justice and request tips for information once a week on Wednesday. Tips then flow in from readers and listeners of the media outlets, including Patch’s 12 New Hampshire sites.
Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White noted that the program has grown to be a feature that the public looks forward to seeing each week – and fugitives “cringe” at the thought of being featured.
