Utah County’s Most Wanted: Man wanted in vehicle theft case

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Jessi Mendoza, 23, last known to live in the Provo area, for four warrants for his arrest.

Mendoza is wanted for receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle, receiving stolen property, retaliation against a witness/victim/informant and theft, all third-degree felonies.

The warrants stem from multiple incidences. In January 2016, Mendoza was arrested for retaliating against someone whose vehicle he had burglarized by sending threats to the person via Facebook, the police report says.

Also in January, he was also pulled over and found to be in a stolen vehicle.

In April 2016, Mendoza was arrested after reportedly committing a vehicle burglary.

Mendoza attempted to run from police during his arrest and actively fought police officers after being told to stop, the police report says.

Mendoza was in a stolen vehicle at the time of his arrest, and more than $1,500 worth of stolen goods were found in the car,
