Fugitive of the Week found hiding in Rochester stairwell

ROCHESTER — Last week’s “Fugitive of the Week” Lace Meattey, 32, was arrested Monday morning by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. She was found hiding under a blanket in a stairwell of a residence on Pine Street in Rochester.

Meattey was wanted on an outstanding Strafford County arrest warrant for bail violations on charges of drug possession and endangering the welfare of a child. Meattey had been released on bail, however an  arrest warrant was issued when she absconded from supervision.

The Task Force received numerous tips indicating that Meattey was still in the Rochester and Farmington, according to a spokesman. Monday, investigators found Meattey at the Pine Street location where she was arrested without further incident.

Meattey was transported to the Strafford County Jail, where she will be held without bail pending her arraignment on this outstanding arrest warrant, said the spokesman.
