The Obama administration on Thursday announced a number of retaliatory measures intended to punish Russia for allegedly interfering in U.S. elections. Among the actions taken were sanctions against individual Russian officials, two of whom are already on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” list.
A fact sheet posted on the White House’s website names six Russian officials, including:
- Russian intelligence unit chief Igor Valentinovich Korobov
- Russian intelligence unit deputy chief Sergey Aleksandrovich Gizunov
- Russian intelligence unit first deputy chiefs Igor Olegovich Kostyukov and Vladimir Stepanovich Alexseyev
In addition, the U.S. Department of the Treasury is adding the names of two more Russian individuals to pre-existing sanctions — Evgeniy Mikhailovich Bogachev and Aleksey Alekseyevich Belan — both of home already appear on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” list.
